about

I wrote this song in 2017. It was obviously inspired by a run in with the Fireball! I was playing a show in Spirit Lake, Idaho and they had a whiskey promotion going on. I was mad at the guy I was seeing (who loves fireball) and proceeded to get "whiskey wasted". If you listen to the lyrics, I'm NOT a whiskey drinker! So this was a rare event for me to be chugging shots. "Whiskey Wasted" popped in my head and I knew I needed to write a song. I grabbed my notebook and in about 30 minutes, had this one ready to play out. I've been playing this solo and live for 5 years now. It takes a lot to save for these projects as an independent artist and I'm happy to have finally recorded it with my Nashville dream team! I also was able to round up one of the Oak Ridge Boys, Dewey Dorough, on saxophone! I love the saxophone and had always wanted one featured on one of my songs. I hope you poor a shot of whiskey and enjoy this song as much as I did creating it!

lyrics

I love when the fireball hits your eyes, everything just comes out your reckless, wild side. You pull me in with no regrets, spillin' beans you haven't spilled yet. It's been some years since it touched my lips. I get more passion when we kiss.

*Cuz we're whiskey, whiskey wasted. Bring it around you know I don't want to waste it. Because we're whiskey, whiskey wasted. Spin it around you know I want to taste it, we're whiskey wasted.

One more shot glass from the crowd, it kept me warm as the sun went down. Took a little break from my chardonnay, joined with a shot glass in Spirit Lake.
